Michael,

Network tab, make your SMTP changes { Save settings}, and then at the top click
{ Reboot/Restart } [ Restart SMTP Mail ] x Confirm

That should do it, no reboot necessary.

Use the { Test SMTP Mail Relay } button on the same page to test after the 
above changes.
