Yup its the same iMac. OS X 10.10 Yosemite has had a number of network
problems reported with it. WiFi issues are widespread, there are VPN
problems with manually configured networks (which are mysteriously fixed if
you use DHCP) and they made DNS changes. Altogether Apple did a very poor
job of quality control around the network subsystems on this release.
