When using a CFast to SATA adapter board a couple things to keep in mind: 1) Make sure the adapter will operate (reliability) as a boot drive, from a cold start. 2) Understand what SATA speed the adapter supports SATA I, II, or III. I see many CFast cards support SATA III (6 Gbps), if the adapter board throttles down to 1.5 Gbps (while still fine for AstLinux) there can be unexpected issues. I don't know what restrictions you may have, but a 16 GB / 32 GB - 2.5" SATA SSD would be less expensive than similar sized CFast cards and would not require an adapter board. Personally I'd go that way if possible.
