OK, good additional info... Regardless, I suspect your VMware ESXi has nothing to do with it, and it is an Asterisk issue.
If this continues to be a problem, and you are not using queueing, you could update to the latest, AstLinux 1.2.6.1 and see if that resolves the issue.
