If I understand you correctly, your main Asterisk server via AstLinux has a 
dynamic IPv4 on the external interface.

I have not needed to try this, but on the "client end" (assuming 
AstLinux/Asterisk again) take a look at the asterisk dnsmgr.conf entries, and 
set "enable=yes" and see if that helps.

Depending on the TTL of the dynamic DNS entry, you will have a period of time 
when things won't work.

Clearly a static IP at the server end is the "production" method.  Possibly you 
can obtain a static IPv6 address at the server end and IPv6 connectivity at the 
client ?
