Hi Paul,

We use the "nut" package for UPS monitoring: http://www.networkupstools.org/

The standard AstLinux builds do not enable the BR2_PACKAGE_NUT_SERIAL_DRIVERS
option.

A custom build could enable nut "serial drivers", though we have not tested
that.

We would recommend using either a USB or network SNMP connection, I'm old
enough to remember all the special 'serial' cables required for UPS signaling,
and the problems with them. Not to mention your AstLinux box would need a
spare serial port.

I personally use both USB and SNMP monitoring for UPS's with AstLinux, and they
just work.

Additionally with "Network tab -> Network UPS Server: [ enabled ]" any nut
network-client compatible device, such as a Synology Diskstation, can use
AstLinux and a proxy for UPS monitoring.

Lonnie
