The standard AstLinux builds do not enable the BR2_PACKAGE_NUT_SERIAL_DRIVERS option. A custom build could enable nut "serial drivers", though we have not tested that. We would recommend using either a USB or network SNMP connection, I'm old enough to remember all the special 'serial' cables required for UPS signaling, and the problems with them. Not to mention your AstLinux box would need a spare serial port. I personally use both USB and SNMP monitoring for UPS's with AstLinux, and they just work. Additionally with "Network tab -> Network UPS Server: [ enabled ]" any nut network-client compatible device, such as a Synology Diskstation, can use AstLinux and a proxy for UPS monitoring.
