I was performing manual backups from CLI since this problem appeared.

Im also assuming that this problem could also be fixed by increasing the size
of /var and/or /tmp if you have a bit more RAM.
I push mine out to 500M and 100M respectively in user.conf as I have 2G
VAR_SIZE="500000k"
TMP_SIZE="100000k"
