I use bitvise SSH client ( https://www.bitvise.com ) which is nice as I can
save profiles on folks I help, and it presents with an SSH window as well as a
double pane file manager, one on my local LAN the other on the remote box.
ALWAYS with SSH on a non standard port to keep the gremlins fooled of course.
Different ways to "drain the swamp" that work. Each has their own strong and
weak points of course.

If you're using SSH to get to the Astlinux box, you can also use WinSCP to set up a
"drag and drop" screen for moving files. SFTP Net Drive Free will actually let
you mount the Astlinux machine as another drive. The free version restricts one to just
one account which should be fine for most users. I use both for different purposes.

I use FTP to move files onto Astlinux. Note that I do not open FTP on the
external interface, only internal.... so I have to OpenVPN in if I want to FTP
from outside my network.
Astlinux can also mount NFS or SMB remote file servers. But that is not as
lightweight as FTP... and there is a problem shutting down if a SMB server is
still mounted.

Hi,
I have been making TTS files in Mp3 format, putting them on a flash drive
from my Windows laptop, mounting the flash drive to the thin client running
Astlinux, transferring the files from the flash drive to the thin client, and
using Sox to convert them to ulaw.
I was wondering if there was an easy way to transfer files from my laptop
to Astlinux on the thin client directly without using the flash drive. I ask
because I am probably going to relocate the thin client. I know Windows, and I
even remember DOS. However, keep in mind I am just a novice with Linux and
Asterisk.
