Although I have never used DPMA, I agree with Lonnie.
XML and LDAP work great with Astlinux using Yealink phones.

There are good quality, well priced IP Phones out there (Yealink for
example) that integrates a contact list (LDAP, XML, etc) with AstLinux without
having to add a propitiatory binary blob.
