I have been attempting to get ddclient working on the later versions and it seems that
the "user defined" input to the GUI is not working properly
Because of the free service we use none of the canned defined services cannot
be used
Input the data and then reboot, and no evidence that ddclient runs. The input
information is correct in gui.network.conf, but nothing in /var/log/messages
there was an attempt.
This USED to work in prehistoric times ( 1.4.44 ) and probably some later ones
In order to get it to work, I had to do several things to please ddclient that
generally are not correct ( or dangerous? )
Manually create the file in /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf
manual create directory /var/cache/ddclient

This does persist a reboot, but I am sure there is a better/proper way
Something in the ddclient script not revised for AstLinux?
Something I am not doing correctly?
