The flash drive is 2Gig.
I believe it wiped the drive during install, or it said it was and took
ages anyway. There is another version 13 I believe and then an asterisk
16 version in the install menu, so I could try these, but wil have to be
in the morning now.
Yes to the UK I did try many options but without success.
Thanks for your help.

I have set up a few 5730 thin clients as well
Not sure why your sound files failed
Perhaps Lonnie or someone else can assist there
What size flash drive?
Was it wiped before the install?
I assume you are in the UK?
These are nice because of the universal power brick works from
100-240V and 50-60Hz, just change the power plug

Thank you John.
It took me a while to understand what to download and install, I used
the Generic x86-32bit (Video Console) download and during install
selected the first option astlinux-1.3.8 - Asterisk 13.23.1.
Unfortunately I had a few filed messages when trying to install the
sound packages such as : -
SHA1 download failed for sound package "core-sounds-en_GB-ulaw".
SHA1 download failed for sound package "core-sounds-en-ulaw".
SHA1 download failed for sound package "core-sounds-en-alaw".
That is a far as I have got this evening.
The Thin client is a T5730

Lonnie will correct me if I am wrong, but you should be able to run
AstLinux 13SE on any of the older HP units
We have many on the Collectors Network using HP thin clients with
no issues
HP 5700, 5710, 5720 and 5740. All older machines that work just
fine. Just remember to install a new CMOS battery, and it will work
for many years

It has been several years since I last run a Astlinux system even
then it was only a very, very small system that used an HP T5700
Thin client. So that dates it.
I am looking to try another simple system, with basically a few sip
phones in the house and a Sip account with some provider again
using a HP thin client.
Now to my questions: My reference book is the 'Asterisk, The
definitive guide' Published by O'Reilly 4th edition which covers
Asterisk 11, would I be better at sticking with using version 13 or
16 asterisk or does it not matter for my use.;
If required I can get the 5th edition book?
It's just to keep my grey cells working and I am sure I will need
to ask lots of questions, (groans from the list).
Cheers
Adrian
