Hi,
As you might have noticed, next generation Eclipse Platform e4 is
getting it's shape with e4 0.9 release:

One of coolest planned features is platform support for various
languages and yes, one of them is javascript!
It means that with e4 we'll be able to write Eclipse plug-ins as equal
citizens to Java plug-ins. It also means there's appropriate tooling
support needed and together with e4 guys we're looking at getting ATF
and e4.debug together. For details see:
