I've compiled the ath5k driver as module on 2.6.27.6 on
my eeepc 701:
I can load and unload the module without any odd things
going on,
I can see the intervafe ath0 along with wmaster0 with
ifconfig and iwconfig and
I can use iwconfig to set up ath0 with my wlan parameters
....

But I cannot manage to get connection to my AP and the
Access Point value returned from iwconfig is allways
"Not-Associated"
even when the wlan parameters are 100% correct.

I've posted more details about this
here:http://slackeee.strangled.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=184#p184

I had the same problem with 2.6.27.4 but I used to get a
lot of error messages when I remove the module.

On previous kernels (2.6.25.10) I used to compile
separately madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007 but in no longer
builds agains newer kernels and the
http://snapshots.madwifi-project.org/special/ seem be no longer maintained:
[ ] madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3698-20080604.tar.gz 04-Jun-2008 12:20
4.2M
[ ] madwifi-ng-r2756+ar5007.tar.gz 27-Jul-2008 08:05 485
[ ] madwifi-ng-r3366+ar5007.tar.gz 27-Jul-2008 08:05 491
[ ] madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007.tar.gz 27-Jul-2008 08:05 491 Symlink
to madwifi-ng... to fix external links to the formerly misspelled archive name

as I doubt any of those <500 byte tarballs have anything useful inside.

Anyone else have the same problems on their 701 and has
anyone solved it ?

Have any ideas how I can get new kernel and wifi card
working on my eeepc 701 ?

Regards
David
