i a way that's good - it means we can catch it easily... :)
i am testing on a mips board (routerstation pro) with 5414 as i said.
and for me it happens very rarely, which makes debugging really hard.

i think ar5414 and 2425 are probably very similar.

yes i have had this. 
one reset makes everything silent - i.e. no interrupts at all, no RX/TX.
a second reset makes the RXORN interrupts appear again, but still no RX or TX 
can happen.
third reset makes everything silent, 4th reset: RXORN... etc...
