Seems I was wrong... ieee80211_frequency_to_channel isn't provided by
2.6.25.

But...  If I recompile the kernel without cfg80211 and wpa80211 and use 
the modules provided by compat-wireless, ath5k loads fine (no wep 
error), and wireless is working.
