The situation now is a mixed bag: I *thought* the MSI fix would be enough to make it work, but that was just me not understanding the details. And that one (the MSI fix/patch) went in between 2.6.26 and 2.6.26.1 (see http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.26.y.git;a=history;f=drivers/net/wireless/ath5k;hb=c1259fc7cf7c172b984039213b792c08b1891c27 ). But it still doesn't work for me in that version. Linus' 2.6.27 git repository hadn't the new code as of 2.6.27-rc1. But after that release candidate, a whole bunch of patches went in and 2.6.27-rc2 will most certainly have them: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=history;f=drivers/net/wireless/ath5k;hb=HEAD BUT: That still wasn't enough to make it work for me, so probably neither 2.6.26.1 nor 2.6.27-rc2 (although for that one there might still be a small window of opportunity if it gets the latest patches) will work on the EEE (w/ regard to ath5k). However, the current wireless-testing git repository's HEAD works for me. Thus, the compat-wireless-2.6 driver snapshot should provide proper support even for your 2.6.26.1 kernel (I didn't test that). > This would explain my problem, driver ok, but no input/output. Yes, that message basically describes your problem. > If I read correct, you had traffic on your card? Yep, running fine. I can switch on/off wifi too (by using the platform driver), with ath5k enabling/disabling. And system standby/resume works with ath5k up and running. So, yes, since I just have the opportunity to say this here w/o causing to much noise: Damn fine work! -hwh _______________________________________________ ath5k-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ath5k.org/mailman/listinfo/ath5k-users
