Hi guys, I don't know if it's the right channel for this, but I wanted to share something I just realized: after upgrading to 2.6.31, I could finally ditch madwifi and use the in-tree ath5k driver to let my fileserver act as an access point. It works quite well so far. The thing is that with madwifi I couldn't stream movies directly from the fileserver to a laptop, the transfer speed was too low and continuous transmissions often oopsed the kernel.
Now with ath5k, both of these problems disappeared; rock-solid transmissions sufficient to stream movies. So, it's just a thank you to the devs for that driver. It was a bit long coming, but it works as it should. Thanks, Xav _______________________________________________ ath5k-users mailing list ath5k-users@lists.ath5k.org https://lists.ath5k.org/mailman/listinfo/ath5k-users
