You also might want to checkout: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne ath5k appears to be the driver you want, not ath9k, nor ndiswrapper (evil). You really also should be working with Ubuntu support ( forums, report a bug, etc... ), and not bothering folks on a *devel* list for ath9k.
