Hi all I am trying to understand beacon transmission in ath9k and am a little confused by cabq traffic . The cabq skbs are fetched from mac80211 by using ieee80211_get_buffered_bc and it seems that these skbs are relevant only in the case of Access points. I want to understand what kind of frames are passed to the hw tx queue in the form of these cabs , i.e are the frames beacons, management or data? What would happen if these frames are not transmitted ? Would it upset beacon transmission or any other management frame traffic running through the tx_tasklet ?
I'd really appreciate if someone could explain or pass some relevant link which could help me understand the role of transmitting these frames.
