Hi Brandon,

sorry for my late reply.

Maybe you already found the moep80211 project [1] and the paper
"Analysis of Injection Capabilities and Media Access of IEEE 802.11
Hardware in Monitor Mode" [2] from 2013 that gave me some insight
about the injection capabilities in ath9k.

Unfortunately, due lack of resources, I was not able to track down
what is the current situation yet, but maybe you want to share the
result of your effort with us ;)
