Hello. I've got a system with a Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) in it. I've tried to enable power management/power saving for it, but powertop reports that the card is still using about 9~10 watts.
So far, I've enabled power saving for the ath9k module and it doesn't seem to work. I also tried: iw dev power_save on and iwconfig reports that Power Management is on, but powertop still reports that the card is using around 9 watts: 506.7 pkts/s Device Network interface: wlp5s0 (ath9k) 9.97 W. powertop also reports the same thing even if I'm not connected to a network. Just so I understand, when using modprode with ath9k, passing 1 would enable parameters and 0 would disable them, correct? This is what I have enabled now: /sys/module/ath9k/parameters/blink:0 /sys/module/ath9k/parameters/bt_ant_diversity:1 /sys/module/ath9k/parameters/btcoex_enable:1 /sys/module/ath9k/parameters/nohwcrypt:0 /sys/module/ath9k/parameters/ps_enable:1 kernel version: 4.2.3-1-ARCH Let me know if there's more information that I need to include.
