Who’s Listening:  How to Listen Effectively

People talk but are we listening? Decisions are made and problems are solved
through effectively listening. What you learn may change your life. A basic
human need is to understand and be understood.  Good listening skills help
us understand the other person’s point of view.  This helps us make better
decisions.

Learn how to:
• Ignore distractions
• Summarize
• Listen with empathy
• Judge whether a speaker is presenting fact or opinions
• Inspire openness and
• Build trust

“Success Communication Series: How to Listen Effectively” is a module of
Toastmaster International’s Success/Leadership Series.


Our presenter, Ms. Lora Mather has more than fifteen years of experience in
working with people and achieving goals. She has directed organizational
restructuring; presented workshops that helped teams reach optimal
performance; and facilitated groups with a desire to change. She combines
her business training and government work experience to give participants
new ways to build trust to help participants maximize their efforts.

Participants in Lora’s workshops give her the highest praise. “Lora enjoys
learning, listening and teaching.  She will listen, encourage and motivate
you to become the best you that you can.”

This workshop is provided as a community service by the Plus Factor
Toastmaster Club.
It is free and open to the public.
