On November 22 at 8:00 p.m. EST, instructors Linn Sorge and Amy Salmon from
The Hadley School for the Blind will present "Technology at Hadley" as part
of Accessible World's weekly Tek Talk webinar.
Sorge and Salmon will give a brief overview of The Hadley School for the
Blind and cover Hadley's various technology courses including Technology
101, Word Processing, Using Excel, Internet Diagnostic Tests & Internet
Basics and Internet: Beyond the Basics.
The presentation will also cover Hadley's other initiatives to incorporate
and utilize technology throughout its curriculum and programs. Hadley
currently offers over 30 online courses and is committed to adding even
more. A significant percentage of students now email their assignments, and
many instructors offer online office hours.
Similar to Accessible World's TekTalk, Hadley offers semin...@hadley, "just
in time" webinars that address a variety of relevant topics for people who
are blind or visually impaired and related professionals. These webinars are
free, open to the public and available "live" or in streaming audio or as an
audio download any time from Hadley's Web site. A number of webinars are
also available for continuing education credit. To date, there have been
nearly 60,000 downloads from people all over the world.
