Anne, Thought you might be interested in knowing about this recorder. I use an Olympus DM-2 Voice Recorder and it reads the name of the folders aloud in a synthesized voice (easy to understand too), it will identify the folders as "Folder A:, "Folder B", etc, there are also "Music" and "Audible" folders that can be accessed too. After selecting the folder, you can select a recording from the list, recordings you create on the recorder are timestamped and listed as such in the folder, music and audible files are identified by their files names they were downloaded with. My recorder has been extremely useful, it also uses a rechargeable battery, and has a very long battery life and a high storage capacity. Can he or she always end on folder 1 so they are always starting at the beginning.. Question: Has anyone adapted the Jenda for someone who is blind? Has anyone tried putting a grid around the months and dates? My experience so far is that you have to be quick to record, or your message gets clipped. Any other observations, tips, pros/cons? I have never encountered this with an Olympus recorder. Note this is also the digital recorder being sold in specialty catalogs (such as LS&S). I also bought a VN-7000 for a client recently, and it does beep once for A, two for B, etc. (I see LS&S does have that one, too-I bought one at Target). The only problem is with that one, it doesn't hook up to a computer. I have called Olympus, and was told there are currently no PC versions out there that have the different beeps for each folder. The last PC version that has the different beeps was the VN-4100PC (so they have apparently put out several versions that only beep once for each folder).
