Subject: [acb-chat] AFB MDC Survey
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know about a project being undertaken by the
American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) to improve the accessibility of
Multifunctional Document Centers (MDCs), which are any type of printers
that also have copying, scanning, or faxing capabilities. MDCs are
becoming increasingly commonplace and necessary for any type of
professional setting, and we want to make sure that these products are
designed with accessibility in mind. As part of this project, we are
trying to solicit feedback from the blindness community about the usage of
MDCs.
We are currently conducting a survey in collaboration with Mississippi
State University which would provide us with demographic data that we can
use to approach both MDC manufacturers and leaders and policy makers in
the field of vision loss about the use and function of MDCs by people who
have visual impairments.
If you have any experience using MDCs, we would love to hear from you. The
survey is expected to take no more than 30 minutes to complete, and
following completion of the survey, AFB will provide you with a $20
stipend to thank you for your time and participation. If you would like to
collect the $20 stipend, you will be asked to provide your name and
contact information at the end of the survey, and AFB will then send a
check made out to you to the specified address.
If you are interested in taking the survey, please follow the link below:

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Morgan
Blubaugh at [email protected]. We thank you in advance for your time and
participation.
Kind Regards,
