My apologies for not checking the facts in the message from the offices of
Linda Dardarian and Lainey Finegold. Here is what I discovered when I made
the calls they suggested. En-Vision wants the prescription pharmacy or
service to fax them confirmation before they will send out the reader. So
the instructions are reversed. To reach the Walmart division that is
handling the pilot program, you don't go through the main mail order line as
the e-mail stated. You call 972-323-4622. This reaches the coordinators of
the pilot program. Next, it depends on whether your state Medicaid will
permit mail order service. Missouri won't unless you live on the border
because they want the prescriptions to be filled in Missouri. If you use a
Medicare Part D. prescription coverage, it will depend on whether the
company you use permits mail order service or whether they want you to use
the one they provide. The Veterans administration provides script talk
machines and will set you up with their mail order service with the
medications labeled. So, it doesn't appear that Missourians can take
advantage of this pilot program unless they wish to buy generics at the Mail
order discount and forgo coverage under their current Medicare coverage or
Medicaid coverage. However, if they are a veteran, they can get this program
setup through the Veteran's Administration.

It did sound pretty cool, but I guess we will have to wait until Walmart
decides to expand it to all their stores.

Sorry for getting people's hopes up.
