Hi!

The First Timer applications are due to the MCB office by August 20.

Also, I apologize to anyone who's been trying to reach me for the past two
weeks. My hard drive died and I've been without my computer, but I have it
back now, and hopefully the data recovery folks will have good news for me
in a few days as well! A bit of advice: back up your hard drive regularly,
even if you have a brand new computer. A hard drive suddenly dying in a
computer you use for everything can be devastating. I foolishly had put off
backing up my data for close to 3 months on this Dell laptop I got in late
January, and well, it happened to me.

Hope everyone's enjoying our cooler weather!

Gretchen

Totally fine, just thought I should let you know! <smiles>

The transportation will be worked out with the individual and how they would
like to travel, be it the train, bus, or if someone will be driving them, we
can cover the gas and such.

Which transportation would it be?

To Gretchen Long,

In regard to the first timer application for the MCB convention, is the
winner responsible for transportation to and from Jefferson City?

Greetings!

October is getting closer and closer and that means the MCB annual
Convention, this year in Jefferson City, and we'd like some fresh new faces
and voices there!

Would you, or someone you know be a good candidate for the Missouri Council
of the Blind's First-Timer Program?

Qualifications include being legally blind, never having been to the MCB
Convention before, and being between the ages of 18 and 50.

If this is you, or if you know someone who would be an excellent candidate,
please fill out and return the attached form for a chance to be an MCB
First-Timer! We'll cover your expenses, and you'll get to learn all about
the latest technology, meet some awesome people, and eat some yummy food at
the Capital Plaza Hotel this October!
