Hey John! I will try to explain these features to the best of my ability.
Connection of the antenna connections is crucial to the operation of the radio.
I also found this out by trial and error. Secondly, to find your regular
stations and HD#3 stations, I use the "seek" buttons to find the stations. If
you are on FM, and wish to find #102.5 HD#3, when you use the "seek" button, if
the antennas are connected correctly, it will stop on the HD stations it finds,
and the frequency will be announced when the "seek stops. If this is not an
answer to your questions, call or e-mail.

By the way, I would also like to take this time for an editorial. When this
radio was touted as "accessible" in previous messages, as to how great a radio
this was going to be and how many blind people were involved in its
development, (or am I just thinking that was the way it was), the clocks and
alarms are not accessible at all. Only the radio is voice accessible. Also,
wasn't this radio supposed to be able to receive radio information services?
If I am wrong about any of this, please set me straight. I have already
contacted Insignia.

On a positive note, I have not heard a radio in that price range that sounds as
good as this, and we have quite a few HD stations here.

Subject: [ATI] Questions about the narrator

Since some of you have the Narrator, I have a few questions. What if anything
is the purpose of the large steel plate with the round circle in the middle of
it that is in the box. the manual makes no reference to it even being there. I
tried using the radio without any antennas plugged in and get almost nothing. A
couple of fm stations and none of the hd stations so I presume the antennas are
crucial to the operation. I know where they go in the back but I am not certain
which antenna is for fm and which for am or how to use them properly. Again,
nothing in the audio manual about them. Do you have to press something to go
from fm analog to fm hd mode? the manual mentions the modes but not how to
access them. John
  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
