FYI, got this from another list about upcoming support for Audible on the
new Stream.

Some of you may remember that there was an email stating that Audible
customer service had indicated that the new generation Victor Reader Stream
would be supported by Audible.

I am hearing word from Humanware that it is confirmed that Audible support
is coming to the Victor Reader Stream, 2nd generation sooner rather than a
nebulous later. Just wanted those who do not yet know that it is confirmed
and not a rumor or a hope in the wind.

The release time is uncertain, but the speculation is in late April when the
next firmware is to be released. I never like giving exact dates on
something that I'm not in control of happening, so can truly state that
Audible is going to be supported, but that the time of its support is
contingent on when the next firmware is released.

I hope this helps some of you who were not sure about whether you wanted a
new unit. <Smile>

Please have a great day all of you and don't forget that Kewing enterprises,
Inc. is placing a new order for our next delivery of streams this coming
week.

Warm Regards,

Sharon

that's exactly what some of the high end audio people say "thanks for the
offer, but I'll pay the fee it's like transaction insurance." but the lesser
buyers will stick the seller with the fee and still get the insurance
benefits; but a properly pissed off buyer can deny the sale for the reason
that they wanted to be able to bank the $700 requested.

I agree. If you send it as a gift and the seller doesn't send you
anything, you have no recourse at all. It was a gift right? I was
all set to purchase something some time back and the buyer wanted
payment sent as a gift. No way. Raise the price to cover the fee or
ask me to pay for it, but no way am I sending money for purchases as a
gift.

I would not pay additional to anyone because they did not take the
fees in to account. That would be like Wal*Mart stopping you and
wanting another few bucks before you left the store because you paid
with a debit or credit card.

And if you pay as a gift, you miss out on some of the protection of
using PayPal. I do not think you can dispute a gift payment, where
you can dispute a goods or services payment.

If you buy a good pay as a good. This also makes it easier for the
seller to ship, they can print and buy a shipping label right online.

I do not ask people to pay with a gift, if they choose to, that is
their choice to make.

I recently purchased a $700 item from a person on the list using Pay Pal.
When she received the payment, the seller told me that her price was
$700, and Pay Pal had deducted fees so she hadn't received $700 and I
owed her more money.

My thought would be that if you do business using Pay Pal, you the
seller the receiver of my hard-earned cash pay the fees. Of course,
I'm a wimp, so I said nothing and paid what she required. I know now
that you can tell Pay Pal you are sending a gift, and no fees will be
deducted; but the seller did not tell me to do that. when I have
tsold items using Pay Pal, I have assumed the fee payment as a cost
of doing business. Am I a chump? Should the buyer pay?

thanks,

Ann
