Great story, Judy; you have given me the courage to order a couple of things for Gary's birthday, and dog gone it; I'll start ordering paper goods and whatever else I can from them, too, especially since your customer service experience was so exemplary,, and it sounds like this link has been further enhanced to give us full access to all products that can be ordered through amazon.com.
Thanks for sharing such an uplifting story about a big company. Subject: Re: [ATI] Amazon web site Franklin, I'm not Darrel <smile> but the link is www.amazon.com/access I want to share a story with you guys. Last Saturday, I went on the Amazon site to order a few things. Rick and I have been ordering a lot from Amazon lately because it's just so convenient. We now get our dog and cat food, cat litter, laundry and dishwashing detergent and paper towels and toilet paper through them. And, of course, we have purchased some fun items as well, such as some Rachael Ray cookware. But I digress. When I tried to place my order for dog food and doggie pickup bags last Saturday, I couldn't because none of the buttons, check boxes or links needed to select shipping speed, card, quantity, etc. would work with JAWS. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper! A friend went on the site and found a link to click which allowed her to put in my phone number. There was a choice of having them call me back right away, within five minutes, etc. I told her to have them call back in five minutes. And, would you believe, about five minutes later, my phone rang, and it was a very nice lady from Amazon! I couldn't believe it. I explained to her the situation, telling her also that we have come to depend on the convenience of having certain items delivered to our door. I also explained that the links, buttons, check boxes, etc., wouldn't work with my screenreader. She noted all my information and said she was passing it on to the people who would deal with this sort of thing. She did tell me that Amazon is doing a lot of updating on their site. I did write of my experience to friends on Facebook, and I believe several of them were going to call. On Monday, I went online again, and successfully ordered my items, which came on Wednesday! I have heard so many horror stories about these large companies that don't respond to situations like this, and I was pleasantly surprised, and pleased, with Amazon regarding this matter. It is much better at least with Jaws. It now has all the same info as there normal page but is much easier to navigate.
