Subject: Applications installed

There are a few applications installed

  * TEXT Extract: This extracts text from images. If you scan a picture
with text in it (such as a picture with words in it) this application is
supposed to be able to extract the words. You can then use Microsoft Narrator
to read that text to you. You will need to know where you saved the image when
you scanned it.
  * You need to use EITHER Microsoft Scan to scan your images OR HP Scan and
Fax to scan your images. The HP Scan and Fax will allow you to scan to PDF.
It is very difficult to see the options in the HP app with your contrast
settings that you have. But that is the app that lets you save to PDF> The
Microsoft app lets you save to other formats though. Both work for Narrator.
  * The Microsoft App integrates FAX and SCAN in one app and you can email
items that you scan and fax. You should like that app. Just type SCAN in the
Cortana box to open the app to do this.
  * Here is a link for information on how to use Microsoft SCAN and FAX
(there is a video you can click on to watch as well)

On another note -- there is a new hearing aid out ... worn by the RAMS coach
called LYRIC. It is an in the canal hearing aid that is worn 24/7 and you wear
it for 4 months at a time. There are NO batteries. This is another option for
you and it works really well for high pitched voices like my own. I think you
should look into it and some insurance companies cover it.
