It certainly has come a long ways since my first exposure to it in the late
nineties. I trained some clients back then on using Dragon Dictate and most
of the training time was spent making corrections. Now however; it works
great right out of the box. Like you said, it’s not perfect but it sure has
come a long ways and in another 10 years it will be even better.

I am amazed that Alexa can hear and respond to you even when you are
playing music pretty loud.

Voice recognition is still far from perfect so, as good as it is, you will
find that you don’t always get what you ask for with either Alexa or Siri.
And sometimes, what you get is so far from what you requested that you will
wonder what possible connection there was. But for the most part, it works
well but not always.

I guess I should say I’m buying an echo not Alexa; she seems very intuitive,
though I’m not sure what her problem is whenever John tries to play
Jeopardy. I’d definitely try it out, however.
