I am not arguing for "nested" collections. If we have a choice
between a format that prevents them and one the does
not, all else being equal, we should go for the less restrictive
option.

It is a negative proof.

The question should not be "restriction A, why not?", it should
be "why restriction A?"

If "why not?" were our standard we would be in big trouble.
