Knowing the technology used would be nice - apache, perl cgi, fast-cgi, mod-perl, php, servlet, tomcat, etc. Also, describing generally what 'low rent hosting' means would be good - perl based cgi-bin, php, etc. The $20USD/month I pay provides a virtual server and root access to linux with pre-configured apache, tomcat, perl, php, etc. so I have a lot of choices to test out. Would 'low rent' be less than $5.00 (USD) a month? Would those providers bring in a pre-packaged solution configured to support PUT/DELETE? Is someone building a 'reference implementation' that could be deployed widely by hosting providers - similar to how Apache is widely used?
