Yep, I was just reading a year old PaceTwoProtocolDocs and related
mails and I'm convinced that this should not be in the core.

What I think would be best in the long run would be to
convince some server implementors to start just doing error reporting in
some sane, consistent way, whatever the format, and just let nature take
its course.

Actually I've been doing that kind thing for 1 or 2 years now.
We, in Japan, have about 3 major blog service providers that support old
Atom API, and each has about ten - a hundred thousand active users.
(for your infomation we have more than 10 major blog service provider
supports XML-RPC)

I've been lobbying hard to make things work across different services.
And I'm getting little tired of it :-)

But, hey seems like that is the only way things go, and I can live with that.
