All the arguments for are based on structural similarity. That is enough to suggest that they are related, but not enough to prove it. A shopping cart and a baby stroller are structurally similar, but that doesn't automatically make them related.
From a search point of view, a feed is almost always going to be a sequence
of separate documents, each of which are indexed separately. It is certainly possible to have a feed that represents an issue of a magazine, or all the entries in a particular category. That feed could be treated as a document. On the other hand, those clusters can easily be created without being a separate feed. Use the category info, for example.
99% of the time, a feed is going to be a chronological sequence and entries are going to be the "real" documents.
