As I understand the Web, the "REST" concepts that underpin HTTP
are quite happy with their being multiple representations of 
the selfsame resource *at the time*. The state captured in 
the documents that fly around the Web can be one of several that 
are associated with a common abstract entity. I'm not sure how 
this fits with the "sliding window" vs "current state" views 
of Atom. I guess I've always seen feeds as just being documents
that are about some other documents, and whose state and 
selection of document coverage / detail is naturally going to 
vary depending on the sort of site we're dealing with.
