The text is normative, the rnc is not, and on that distinction it would be valid to not copy any links. Alternatively, it would also be entirely valid (given the spec text there), to copy some other link (eg. @rel=self) and not copy the @rel=alternate link at all. Is this what we meant the spec to say? e.
