Well, it seems like things are gone from my system. I wonder how that 
happened.

# rpm -V medley-package-config
..?...... c /etc/apt/preferences
..?...... c /etc/apt/sources.list.d/newrpms.list
S.5....T. c /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources
..?...... c /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources.d/newrpms.sources
S.5....T.   /usr/lib/smart/distro.py

I did that, just to try if that makes any difference.

That worked, things are fine again. I do wonder what has happened though.
