Mainly: 1) is nividia 173 working with 3D acceleration? 2) I tried to get a patch for cdfs and kernel 2.6.25 I have a dell d820 with nVidia Corporation G72M [GeForce Go 7400] (rev a1) Well, I upgraded to f9, and finally got the X11 back. I have loaded: $ rpm -qa | grep nvidianvidia-graphics173.14.05-kmdl-2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686-173.14.05-98.fc9.i686nvidia-graphics173.14.05-libs-173.14.05-98.fc9.i386 nvidia-graphics-devices-1.0-6.fc9.noarch nvidia-graphics-helpers-0.0.26-27.fc9.i386 nvidia-graphics-173.14.05-26.i386 nvidia-graphics173.14.05-173.14.05-98.fc9.i386 It is not nvidia, but nv. Have you ever used nvidia installer?Well, $ ls -l /dev/nvidia* crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 195, 0 2008-05-31 17:20 /dev/nvidia0 crw-rw-rw- 1 bpm root 195, 1 2008-05-31 17:20 /dev/nvidia1 crw-rw-rw- 1 bpm root 195, 2 2008-05-31 17:20 /dev/nvidia2 crw-rw-rw- 1 bpm root 195, 3 2008-05-31 17:20 /dev/nvidia3 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 195, 255 2008-05-31 17:20 /dev/nvidiactl The /etc/X11/XF86Config is from running nvidia-xconfig I do have the following: $ rpm -qa | grep xorg | grep fc8 xorg-x11-drv-via-0.2.2-4.fc8.i386 xorg-x11-drv-nsc-2.8.1-4.fc8.i386 xorg-x11-drv-cyrix-1.1.0-5.fc8.i386 xorg-x11-fonts-truetype-7.2-3.fc8.noarch Never used the nvidia installer since I clean installed F8. This thread may help you. http://forums.fedoraforum.org/printthread.php?t=183848 Specially the irqpoll option.
Thanks.
However neither irqpoll or irqfixup worked.
I'll just stay with nouveau for now.
Can't wait to get back to compiz.

'Aldous? Yes. The question is, a genuine what? One person's lunatic
is another's true seeker.'
