No there is no proxy. I never had problems with yum and Port 80. But about some days there is no route to atrpms but the other repositories are fine. I have now taken the atrpms: ftp-stud.hs-esslingen.de mirror.

Usually firefox and yum should get the same message as they just use the TCP/IP stack to connect to port 80. But if one of the is set to talk with a proxy then the behaviour can be different.
