Hello Axel and guys,

I desperately need the nvidia kmod 173.14.09 i686 for kernel
2.6.25.6-27.fc8 . Just upgraded kernel and nvidia to latest , only to
find that kernel will not recognise my tuner card based on saa7416
chipset . So I need to fall back to previous kernel , but there is no
nvidia kmod for it . Please very desperate , myth tv box is off the air
until kmod is installed , which means no TV in the house . I tried to
compile one from source , but can not get it to load , never had any
success with my own built nvidia rpms .

It's kmdl not kmod ;)

Why not use the video4linux kmdl on the new kernel?

Thanks for that Paulo much appreciate it . It got me out of a big bind .

Hello Axel , Funny thing is that I had video4linux kmdl :-)      ver 85 installed with the newest kernel 2.6.25.9-40.fc8, but did not help . Looking at the dmesg the saa7416 chipset did not get detected at all . I tried the ver 86 as well with the newest kernel and same story , it detects my other card a cx88 but not saa7416 . Now with the ver 86 video4linux kmdl I am having an issue that it is incompatible with a dvbloopback module that I am running , so I have been compiling the ver 85 rpm to suit new kernels . So looks like I am stuck , can not keep up with updates because on the kernel side my card is not getting detected , and on the video4linux kmdl side my dvbloopback module will not load . It is getting too hard to keep up , And I am thinking to go over to Centos - much less updating going on .
