Fixed! I didn't have the qt47-mysql package installed.

My centos box is now serving the front ends.

I've just removed the qt44 packages using the rpm --nodeps option and the back-end starts without the previous error, but then silently fails.

The log gives this error:

[r...@server1 ~]# tail /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log

In my system the centos box is just the backend server.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I've just upgraded to myth 0.23.1-241 and get the dreaded message ....

Starting mythbackend: /usr/bin/mythbackend: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libmyth-0.23.1.so.0: undefined symbol: _ZNK16QAbstractSpinBox16inputMethodQueryEN2Qt16InputMethodQueryE

After trawling the users lists I installed qt47 as recommended but this has not fixed the problem. Still get the same error.

Also please remove qt44 packages.

Just upgraded to 0.23.1-241-bijou on el5. I had qt44, qt44-mysql,
qt44-x11 installed and added the qt47 versions. I removed qt44-x11 and
smart installed qt47-webkit Now if I try to remove qt44 smart wants to
remove qt44-mysql too, and install qt4 and qt4-mysql, which I suspect is
not what we want. I've also got qt installed: attempting to remove that
would wipe out most of the system.

After these changes mythbackend wouldn't start:

mythbackend: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/qt47/libQtOpenGL.so.4: undefined symbol: qt_sine_table

That went away after reinstalling qt44-x11

What I have now looks as if it's working, but I don't venture into the
web metadata undergrowth and runtime is still very short.

And...
