Stick a 1G flash drive in when under Ubuntu. Format it, then mount 
it. change the mount point in the guide to be under the flash drive.

You can do the format via the GUI in Ubuntu. If it does not auto 
remount, then reinsert it. Find the mount point using fstab.

Such as /media/mynewdrive

mkdir /media/mynewdrive/atv-update

sudo mount -o loop -t hfsplus atv.img mkdir /media/mynewdrive/atv-update

your flash drive will not be called "mynewdrive", that will depend on 
how you name it when formatting.
