I'm half way through an Ubuntu 7.10 install on the internal HD. When
booting, I can't get past the splash screen, and ctrl-alt-f1 changes
the screen to something else, but it's so distorted that I can't read
anything on the screen. I'm fairly confident that installing the
nvidia drivers will get me past this, but I am unable to access the
device to make changes. atv-bootloader is installed on the internal
HD, as well as my ubuntu install, probably not the best setup for this
kind of experiment, but, oh well.

How can I modify a patchstick (created by ATV USB creator) to go
directly to the login prompt instead of scanning for a bootable
device?

I'm on OSX 10.5, and I don't have a working linux install anywhere. I
could run a machine from the livecd, or install if really necessary.
Last resort for me would be to open the atv to connect the drive to
another machine and delete the ubuntu partition and start over.

Thanks for any advice.
