Mythbuntu 9.04 is troublesome, they removed vesafb for some obscure 
reason. you might try video=efifb, it's similar to vesafb in setup. 
Otherwise, back to Mythbuntu 8.04 which is still my favorite ubuntu 
distro version (8.04).
