Not possible with the current atv-bootloader. You might take a look 
at http://www.solemnwarning.net/kexec-loader/, it's similar 
technology (uses kexec to launch kernels). It would need some work to 
integrate with atv-bootloader. Remember, as with all OSX boxes, the 
AppleTV uses EFI and not BIOS but there is no BIOS compatibility 
later present in the EFI so booting with grub or any other bootloader 
that expects a BIOS will not work. Also the various EFI replacements 
will not work because the AppleTV EFI will only hand off to the 
specific AppleTV boot.efi.
