it was still 8.6 on the Lirc. As far as the remote goes, it works great, but when I am viewing the commands in terminal it shows 4 repeats of the same command, ie:

Then I'm done till My CHD card gets here. I have already compiled and installed the Broadcom drivers so here's hoping it pops up once i install it.
