OK I think you're right, it probably comes from my CF.

Do you confirm that it is impossible to boot (different from
bootstrap?) from a disk marked as removable (just like MS OSes)?

If yes, well, then that's my problem.

By the way, just wanted to thank you about your work. After struggling
in XBMC to find the proper video settings all my full HD content just
plays beautifully with the broadcom card... That's awesome.
