That's exactly what I was thinking, but I can't find anything relating to the kernel modules for the installer on the ubuntu site. Closest thing I could find was http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9234666 about another video module issue.

Has anyone been able to boot 10.04 from the hd-media installer files

the two hd-media installer files with the 9.10 versions the installer
works as expected(except for the fact it's the 9.10 installer), which

installer.

Wondering if anyone has determined whats different between the two.

I bet it's not using vesafb and assuming it can change the video mode with BIOS, opps AppleTV does not have a BIOS :)
